TL;DR: We featured Scotty in a video last week and found out through it that his family has been displaced by a fire. Our church is already supporting the family, would you please join us in the effort?

Last week we dropped the “Superpower” video featuring Scotty - thanks for watching guys!

I texted Scotty to let him know the video was going up and if we could tag him.

(Along with relationship building it’s kind to let people know their faces are going to be on the internet when you can 😂. )

He had no objections to being tagged but also dropped me this link. Once I saw the link I knew what it was because I had read the article last week, but I didn’t know that Scotty’s family was involved.

In a follow up conversation, Scotty asked that if we can do anything, to please give it to his mother and teenage sister as they do not work, but he does.

After our church was able to support Scotty’s mother and his sister we found out that Scotty was still on his own figuring it out.

Some would advise against my making this request as this work is not scalable nor sustainable - 2 bulwarks of modern American church planting. Our church would rather obey.

“Give justice to the weak and the fatherless;
 maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.
 Rescue the weak and the needy;
 deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”

Maybe a good question to ask me, is why I didn’t give a gospel presentation to him here? That would make for a good convo!

So, now we are 2 weeks off pace for our end of year series “What Patience Produced”, 😆 . But I didn’t want this to have any competition.
